Extended Days
Friday Fun Days for Early Learning
Friday Fun Days are offered for children in our Early Learning classes.
This program is an option for parents to bring their child to school for an additional day.
Children will have time to play, do art, participate in sensory activities, and have a snack.
The times are 8:40 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Morning and Afternoon Extended Day
Our Extended Day programs offer a convenient option for all students to arrive at school as early as 8:00 a.m. and stay as late as 6:00 p.m., excluding Wednesday morning.
Morning Extended Day is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 8:00 a.m. Afternoon Extended Day is available after school Monday-Thursday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 12:00-4:30 p.m. with the option to extend care from 4:30-6:00 p.m.
Children in our Extended Day programs are given the flexibility to choose their own activities, engage in special interests and classroom-center activities, and play on the playground. In the afternoon, children are provided a snack.
The Extended Day programs are also available on a drop-in basis, as space allows, and require a reservation made in advance, by emailing Jacynda Griego at jgriego@smesdallas.org.
Early reservations must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. the day prior to staying for Extended Day.
2026-2027 Schedule and Fees
Extended Day monthly pricing is based on EACH day selected and is for enrollment through May.
Single day or single month enrollment will be billed at the drop-in rate.

Morning Extended Day

- Morning Extended Day is not available on Wednesdays.
- $64/mo per weekday when enrolled through May
Afternoon Extended Day
- Time: 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.
- $42/*$61 Daily Drop-In
- $93/mo per weekday when enrolled through May
- Preschool and Kindergarten students have the option to enroll in our partner YMCA program from 4:30-6:00 p.m.
- Our SMES 4:30-6:00 p.m. program is available for an additional $78/mo per weekday for Early Learners.
Friday Afternoon Extended Day
- Time: 12:00 – 4:30 p.m.
- $83/*100 Friday Drop-In
- $198/mo when enrolled through May
YMCA Extended Day Program at SMES
SMES has partnered with the YMCA to offer extended care hours to our PreK and Kindergarten families daily on our campus from 4:30-6:00 p.m. following our 4:30 p.m. Afternoon Extended Day program.
The YMCA offers enrollment on a weekly basis and a punch card option for dropping in as needed.
Policies
Please note an important policy regarding SMES Extended Day programs:
PreK 3 half-day students must be enrolled in an Enrichment (12-2:30 p.m.) before adding Extended Day Afternoons.
